Blackheart Little Giant Demo

I just recorded a few minutes of me plunkin' around on the new Blackheart Little Giant head I picked up this week.

I do clean on all the pickups, then crunch on all the pickups.

Guitar used is a 1996 American Standard Stratocaster with a Seymour Duncan Hot Rails bridge pickup.

Boss DS-1 with Monte Allums rectifier mod in-line, not engaged until I finish the clean demo --- you'll know.

Patience, people! YouTube has to screen it and make sure it's not too rock and roll before the link works!

They wouldn't want anyone's face to get melted off!

Should be just a few minutes,

Re: Blackheart Little Giant Demo

Very nice, bro. The Strat is sounding sweet through that rig.

Love the little "Hendrix does Back in Black" at the end. :D :joke:

Re: Blackheart Little Giant Demo

Pretty cool. That seems to be a strat friendly amp.

Re: Blackheart Little Giant Demo

Great plunkin', Hunter. I gotta say, though, that I'm hearing the same thing here that made me return the Blackheart I had for a couple weeks: it sounds "hard" to my ears. Running straight in, I could never get a sound that pleased my ears. Always too direct and flat. Even my girlfriend, who normally doesn't say anything one way or another about tone, commented on how the Blackheart sounded harsh.

But take that with a grain of salt, and not as a knock on you; I know that this is a compressed YouTube vid, and if the Blackheart I had sounded a lot like a compressed YouTube vid. . . well, that probably should clue me that I got a bad one. :lmao:

I have a Crate Palomino now, and it's a good one. So all's well.

That amp is pretty versatile all around, but can see where someone would call it harsh. I guess that directness is ridiculously appealing to some. Mine doesn't sound "flat" clean, not stock and certainly not with the speaker swap. Good tubes matter!

too bad I can't record very well... just the built in mic on the ol iMac! iz not so gret, aktchuly

Interesting feedback, gang!

It sounds pretty boring in this clip and in real life. It needs some time to grow on me for sure!

Re: Blackheart Little Giant Demo

sounds alright, i don't like the peakyness in the attack from your high bass settings though;) otherwise it's decent, especially for what it is:fing2:
i love the shimmering highs in the clean tones your getting.

I really don't like the way that demo video sounds --- I'm going to make another cut tonight with some P90 guitars and see if that sounds more like I want.

I opened it up at church last night, and it is just plain and simple WAY LOUD, even on 3W.

I will probably keep it, but right now, I'm just taken aback with how loud it is and how that's really not going to work for my apartment.

Re: Blackheart Little Giant Demo

I think it sounds great, I really like that (the amp and the playing)....makes me want to break out my strat, cop that tone, and fail miserably at that kind of playing.

Re: Blackheart Little Giant Demo

I like it too. But then again I like fast attacking amps... they are like ninjas... or something. Hehe geez I make no sense at all ever.
