If you want a more direct attack, more aggressive output, and thicker sound from them, sure.
It's not that the BMP-1 doesn't work well with some higher output pickups, but it does change their tone and character quite a bit. Generally speaking, you can reign in the output somewhat with your volume knob, but low-to-medium output winds that are a little tighter to start with are better for retaining clarity. On the hotter end of the spectrum, something like a Full Shred is likely to be a better pairing than most others, since the low end is tight and not overly boomy to begin with.
Recall that even the SD coil packs, which were largely designed to mimic the voicing of the original Blackouts when using the BMP-1 preamp, were moderate output, A5-based winds. This was largely the same with the Gus G coil packs, as well. They weren't "hot" pickups on their own, but with the BMP-1, they became flamethrowers.
A pickup like the El Diablo is already quite high output and rather direct, so the BMP-1 might be overkill in this case. However, some might actually appreciate such a change, depending on their rig and their tone goals. I'm certainly not judging and it might be interesting to see what the BMP-1 does to something that's already a firebreather!
