Blackout pre-amp with lace alumitone pickups???

So I've been thinking about putting together an ultra modern metal guitar.
Finding the most modern takes on everything. Hardware, body material, pickups, the works.
To see if a 100% "modern" (almost futuristic) guitar is any good. I know lace alumnitones are (in my opinion) pretty sweet. And as far as i can find there the most radical and modern technological take on the guitar pickup! And all active fans know the awesomeness of the SD blackout modular preamp. Which is also a very modern take on guitar tech. So i was thinking 'how would they sound together?'

So has anyone done it? Is someone willing to try it?
as i said. I want to do this myself at some point so all i really want to know is
Is it possible? Will they work?

P.s. I'm not looking for opinions on if it'll sound good. as tone is a personal taste thing. Many of you will dislike the idea purely because its a lace pup or an active pup. And thats fine. we all have our likes and dislikes. I just want to know the hard facts of its viability

I would say to get the lower output Alumitones if you're going to throw a preamp on them. Pairing them with the Deathbucker might be overkill. :D

I think its an awesome idea too :)

Also i have a blackout preamp with a pair of invaders and they ROCK! (Adds that bit of high end the invaders lack as well as making them even more brutal) so i think deathbuckers will work nice. And hey... Its metal. Overkill is never enough lol. I think i'll test it out when i get a sevenstring lol

Just by reading the BO Preamp's product page, it should work. It says ' Blackouts™ Modular Preamp is an ingenious way to get that high-gain, active guitar sound with ANY passive four-conductor pickup. Simply by swapping a volume pot for a Blackouts Modular Preamp volume pot, you can get active pickup performance with a more classic look.

It sounds interesting. Not steal your idea, but I may just have to try this myself on a build that I'm currently refinishing.
