Blackouts AHB1 Set vs Blackouts Sold Separately (different magnets)?

Hi,

I've sent 2 mails to the duncan folks and posted this same question in the facebook duncan pages but no one seems to answer. Hope someone here can help.

Long story short, I just bought a guitar with Blackouts AHB1 set in it, so I went to the duncan webpage to see the specs and in the AHB-1s (Set) says it's a blanced Ceramic magnet set for bridge and neck, but the AHB-1n (separate Neck version) page says it's build with Alnico 5 magnet.

So basically my question is :

Does it mean that the AHB-1n that comes inside the Blackouts set is made of Ceramic magnet instead of Alnico 5 ?, or is it the actual AHB-1n made with Alnico 5 magnet that is sold individually and is listed wrong in the site ?

Because if the answer to the first question is true, that means the AHB-1n Ceramic is only available if you buy the set, which doesn't make sense to me, but I would like someone with more knowledge on this matter to set it straight.

The AHB-1n aka Blackout neck is A5 and the AHB-1b aka Blackout bridge is Ceramic.

Separate or as a set, that's what you get. That's it.

The AHB-1n aka Blackout neck is A5 and the AHB-1b aka Blackout bridge is Ceramic.

Separate or as a set, that's what you get. That's it.

Yep. That's why a lot of folks like to use two neck pickups in their guitars with the Blackouts.

its just the way duncan has things displayed on their product page, not always the best. the pups however are great for what they are

Customer support wise between the big makers the list goes like :
1) Dimarzio - they reply with very useful answers
2) EMG - they don't say anything helpful but they pretend to care
3) SD - they never reply anything

On the topic, to me the natural combination would be ceramic neck (weaker - more treble), AlNiCo bridge (hotter, bassier).

ceramic magnets are usually stronger than alnico

Yeah, but EMG 85 in bridge is (much) hotter than EMG 81 in bridge, at least to my ears.

i think that has more to do with voicing than anything else, the 81 has a ton of output in a fairly narrow band of frequencies to my ears
