hard clips experienced at any volume on guitar pot. jumper in preamp is set to "boost" have not yet tried it without.

Welcome to the forum!

What else is in the signal chain? Does it do this going directly into the amp?

sounds like you have the AHB-2 blackouts metal humbucker. this one is really high output even without the the jumper set. hard to get a clean tone with a regular amp...

blackouts have a ton of output, try it without the jumper. i have the jumper on a switch so i can switch between outputs which works well

If that is the blackouts metal in the bridge then that is how it supposed to be. I have my jumper wires to a push pull for boost but it still will overdrive or clip the input on most amps. It’s one of my favorites. The regular blackouts aren’t as high output.

Any of the neck blackouts don’t really clip and have pretty good cleans. You could mix a live wires 2 classic neck or even an Emg 60 in the neck for really good cleans. If this is a one pickup guitar then your out of luck unless you never play clean.

If the blackouts metal on default setting (with the jumper) are anything like the old livewires metal that I had, it could distort on any amp, I could plug the headphones directly to the guitar and still have decent audible sound! (btw I still have the whole set and I intent to install them again some time! )

Hey allstarrme , thank you for this livewires non-metal regular bridge, I still have it and liking it very much. I owe you, pls feel free to msg me any time.
