Blackouts in Alder? Advice please...

Hey!

I have Washburn 7 string that is made of alder, and i am considering putting some active pups.

I would like to put Blackouts, but i dunno how they will work with alder...
I read here that there is no that much of a difference between bodywoods, but is there anyone who had this combination?

Thanks;)

I have blackouts in my Jackson RR3, which is an alder body. Sounds brilliant, it's the only set of pickups that I've liked 100% in this guitar. You won't go wrong with them.

Re: Blackouts in Alder? Advice please...

Do they have the same amount of tightness as EMG?

I wander are the Blackouts as clean and articulate as 707 because i mostly play music with a lot of rhytmic breaks and syncopation, so i would really appreciate tightness of the pups, in live setting as well as the studio work.

Thanks

I've never played EMGs so can't answer that. They are incredibly good for clean stuff though.

Blackouts sound good in alder, i have tried both in my RR1 jacksons and they are both tight and sound good. the blackouts have more bottom end . I like them in alder .

The Blackouts will kill your EMG's with ease! All the things you love about EMG but with the
Seymour Duncan mojo.
