Blackouts in my Xiphos.... help

Ok I am going crazy here.... I am a guitar player not so much a tech.. I have put pickups in before but this is a pain....

I have the Phase 1's and I got them mounted OK.. after a little dremel action on the tabs... but here is my question...

I see no way that I can use the stereo plug that came with the blackouts... I cant get the nut to even reach it... can I use my Xiphos Plug as long as I wire it correctly?? It has 3 prongs ..... or am I crazy?

Thanks!!!

Three prongs should be tip - ring - sleeve. A simple multimeter test should tell you, but that sounds like a "stereo" plug. The reason for three contacts is to break the circuit when you unplug so you don't drain batteries.

The pups/electronic curcuit go to one "ground" and the battery goes to the other.

Yes. The three prong plug on your Ibanez is probably only using two of the pins. The third, unused pin is the one used for the "battery negative". The other two are hot and ground. You can tell which one is which by where they go.

Yes when I pulled the plug on the Xiphos I see it was not using the middle one... so that is Battery I assume the bare one was the ground and the white the hot? So just match that up and should be good to go?

Thanks
