Blackstar Amp?

Re: Blackstar Amp?

Must have 1x12 quality celestion or eminence speaker(s). much more opened sound, more bass response, much more headroom etc. i run mine first through 1x10 and than swap to 1x12 and, man it was totaly different world... in a very positive way. haven't try this 4x8 cab, but i think it's more suited for HT-1 head . of course you can try it at local store, but i recommend not buy it before you actually try one .

Re: Blackstar Amp?

Do they come as a set.....a pair.?
If not, I would be tempted to skip the 4x8. There are many more, and better sounding choices in the 10 and 12 inch arena.
best

Re: Blackstar Amp?

Blackstar has a new series coming out that looks real good

Re: Blackstar Amp?

Skip the 4x8 and get a decent 1x12". Load it with a Celestion Vintage 30, the HT-5 loves the V30. ;)

I picked one up (the 60 watt 1x12, same as in the video), got a lot of the sounds similar to the vid right out of the box. Theirs is tweaked by the pros who made it, and recorded professionally, but mine still sounds a lot like it in my living room. Not a tube amp, but probably the closest wanna-be I've played before and great for covering a lot of ground with just a few tweaks of the knobs.

Re: Blackstar Amp?

I bought the ht5 non reverb stack a few years ago, and man those 1x10 cabs were not super awesome. I sold them both and got a 1x12. Sounds good for home jammin for sure.

Re: Blackstar Amp?

I had a ht-5 with the 1x12 with 70/80 and can't say enough good things about it

I miss the hell out of it but after one jam with a drummer I needed something louder.

It was 'loud enough' but couldn't express nuances against the drummer

Damn great tone with the volume at 10
