Blackstar ID Core 10 w/ pedals

Re: Blackstar ID Core 10 w/ pedals

That sounds really good. Sounds like a much bigger amp. Some good old school tone going on there too.

Yeah its a fun little amp.and super easy to dial in a good sound. I do wish it had more headroom as I mentioned in Ben's "fly" thread (the reason I posted this). I could see me upgrading to the 20w (10w per side) version.

Fwiw- that was the "warm clean' setting with the gain up full which is not much at all. Its supposed to be tweed bassman-ish. The echoplex pre was set to full blast..and it doesnt have a ton of boost either.

Re: Blackstar ID Core 10 w/ pedals

That sounds quite okay, indeed the tone suggests a much bigger amp. Did you mic it or go the USB way?

The "warm clean" is one of the secret weapons of this little amp I think. I use it for jazz on full drive and I roll back the volume pot. I really really like the response, much better than any of the Roland Cubes and the like.

Agreed on warm clean. It does a better marshall sound than the crunch models.

I put my little zoom q3 recorder about a foot in front of it.

Re: Blackstar ID Core 10 w/ pedals

Really good result with the little one, both the amp and the mini recorder.

None of them are rich in the bass department though, still with a little work most of tones in the demo would work well in a mix I think.

Re: Blackstar ID Core 10 w/ pedals

I hear some very good Mid Range. That cut sounds like it would cut easy.
I can respect these kinds of tones. Nice work my man. Nice playing as well.
The Blackstar Products I find to be nice and useful to many. I want so badly to plug into the big boys like the Series 100 6L6 and El34 heads.

Re: Blackstar ID Core 10 w/ pedals

Thanks folks for the kind words. I just posted the clip for Ben (TO) to show him how pedals worked with the bigger blackstar ID core amps as he was having issue with pedals and his Fly. It was just a flip it on and hit the red button thing..The crunch channels would definitely sit in a mix better if used for recording tracks..they have a very penetrating midrange. They sound kinda like a jubilee with v30s.

The series one amps are pretty nice. Also the Artisan(?) head like Uli Roth is using (essentially a superlead clone)
