Blackwood Stroll

Re: Blackwood Stroll

Kirk,
I'd settle for an album full of that stuff!

very nice, Old Timey vibe .. I could picture someone strolling down the street

what did you use for the acoustic and recording?

Re: Blackwood Stroll

Thanks so much Curly.

That's my 1951 Gibson J-50 which has not left my side since 1969 when I bought it in a Montreal pawn shop.

That was niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiceeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!! :)

Re: Blackwood Stroll

Fun stuff, Kirk-

I really like your slide arrangements-I still play that Curtis Mayfield you did a while back.

Re: Blackwood Stroll

That was great, Kirk! BTW, I bought your book Planetalk, downloaded it from your webpage, actually. Although I already knew most of the theory in the book (really enjoyed the comic-style :)), it was nice to rewise it. The Guitar Slide Rule's would be worth the money alone! It largely facilitates thinking. I've already seen lots of different triad shapes discussed in a jazz instruction book but I think your version is much more useable, flexible, and easier to learn. Just wanted to thank you. :headbang:

Part 2 of Blackwood Stroll is now posted at http://www.guitarforbeginners.com/blkwdstrl/

Thanks Peterku, glad you're enjoying PlaneTalk. Nice to see that it's filtering out into countries like Hungary. I sold one to S Korea this morning, one to Denmark. I'm finishing off a Spanish translation that will be made available in the not too distant future.

There does seem to be something about the simplicity of the technique and the format of the lesson that really resonates with players who are still 'stuck'.

Thanks again for letting me know. Anyone interested in finding out more, go to http://www.thatllteachyou.com
