Blacouts AHB1 neck and bridge

Anyone who has them in their Les Paul for all kinds of music?
I´m using Gibson Burstbucker Pros now.

I love PAFs but would love to try some active as well.
So if you have them and maybe have a youtube video to, that would be great.

Re: Blacouts AHB1 neck and bridge

I don't have them in an LP anymore, but I have them in a mahogany guitar (an ESP Viper), and I'm continually astounded by how great they sound. I play blues and ballads, and for the last year have been an avowed PAF fan. The Blackouts give you less of that transparent, hollow, watery feel that PAFs do (if that makes sense), but they're smoother and more articulate than any PAF I've used, with what I think is the perfect EQ, just the right amount of compression, and still plenty of dynamic range. My Viper is in dire needs of a setup, but I still reach for it all the time because it just sounds so amazing with the Blackouts.

That is the first review that I have seen that actually speaks about a Blackout with out a direct comparison to the EMG metal tones... I have been eyeing some BOs at my local shop for about 2 weeks...

Fikealox very good explanantion :)
Great that you compared them with PAFs :)
I´ve got the Burstbucker Pro´s in my Les Paul for the moment, i changed the magnet in the bridge from alnico5 to alnico2 :) worked great but i´ve been thinking about actives to and emg doens´t really apeal to me.
And since you say Blackouts do Blues and Ballads very well they seem like a good choice.
