im switching out the pup's in my V ( HH ) because i need a cleaner tone with some cool harmonics, im not looking for too much brightness but i dont want a dirty sounding bottom, however with the few ammount of blade style pup's its kinda hard to find what i want and im curious if anyone could suggest any blade style pup's for me to use ? id like to get blade style pup's for the neck & bridge ( in white, not cream, if possible ) however i guess i dont have a problem painting them...thanks in advance

Re: blade style pup's

Bill Lawrence make excellent blade pickups, www.billlawrence.com. The 500 series use blades, and come in 4 different flavours of output. And of course theres the dimarzio x2n, which i have. But... its output is a little over the top for some people. The dimebucker is excellent, hopefully jimmy may drop by, he's used the dimebucker for a while i think. The Joe Barden blade humbuckers im not too familiar with... but im pretty sure they have a vintage sound...

hope some of what i said helps

Yep, Joe Bardens are the best blades in my book and Bill L follow closely- But bad news is that Joe Bs are not available any more so unless you can find a good ebay deal, this probably won't help you much-

Interested in hearing how things turn out-

I heard a X2N a while back and did not like it at all
how does the BL 500XL compare to that tone?
