Blank check made out to Fender Custom Shop

Re: Blank check made out to Fender Custom Shop

I'd have them make me a copy of that Flamed sparkly humbucking Tele with reverse Strat neck Wattage has. :D

Re: Blank check made out to Fender Custom Shop

I'd get an Indian rosewood Telecaster with a boat style neck. (with a thin middle piece of maple in the body and neck)

Natural finish on the body and an unfinished neck.

Black/white/Black 3 ply pickguard with chrome hardware and chrome kluson tuning pegs

Black Antiquity in the bridge and a chrome lipstick Antiquity in the neck

I'll take Blackie

I'll take Blackie

I suppose I could have them make me something "for me", but I've already sorta done that with my strats, like the reverse metallic blueburst strat/engine turned guard, black plastic, graphtechs, and Fat 50's.

I think if I had a blank check, I'd have a Masterbuilt EXACT replica made of Clapton's Blackie, which recently sold for close to a million. I mean EXACT!!!!
I have a picture of Clapton in 1970, playing that guitar on my wall, and it would be a dream to have the next best thing to that million dollar classic.

Here's mine, made up of the best parts I've gotten off Custom Shops and American Series strats. The Racecar. Right now, I have that same guard in H-S-S with a Custom 5/2 Fat 50's in that guitar.

Re: Blank check made out to Fender Custom Shop

dunno,Fender still has specs they *have* to use, even if its their custom shop...like the headstock shape, and traditional body shapes..its not a 'custom shop' in that sense, it is more of a 'pick from list A, then list B' kinda place.
I don't like the Fender headstocks, and they build terrible synth-ready guitars...that leaves me out.

Re: Blank check made out to Fender Custom Shop

or maybe just a solid platinum jag with gold pickguard and strings and platinum/ gold hardware, etc.

Re: Blank check made out to Fender Custom Shop

Body : Strat-shape. Ash, with a transparent yellow/amber-kinda finish. No pickguard.

Neck : Set maple neck with ebony fingerboard. Thin profile, 16" radius and 22 jumbo frets. And that big, 70's-style headstock.

A tune-o-matic, a single (custom-wound, why not?) humbucker, a single volume pot and some quality tuners.

That's my dream guitar right there.

Body: Jagstang. Basswood. Add belly and fore-arm grooves. Tangerine Orange finish.

Neck: Change the vintage frets to jumbo frets. No fret dots, only one marking at the 12th fret.

Pickups: Duncan JB and Fender Texas Special turned strait, not slanted.

Bridge: TOM Stoptail

Other: Tusq nut, graphtech saddles.

Re: Blank check made out to Fender Custom Shop

all other tone robbing jag hardware in place, including the mute :)
