...for my blog. There's no ads, it's not to make money, it's just that writing a blog is a bit more fun if you know there are people reading it. I'm blogging the build of a Warmoth superstrat and geeking out a bit with the electronics, which every single person who reads it takes me to task over.

It's looking at the moment like it will be Vintage Hot Stack Plus in neck and mid, and JB trembucker at the bridge.

Looks good, but I don't understand why you want the super-super switch. A regular super switch does what you need. Two quadrants to do the pickup switching, one to do the split, and one to add in the resistor. Are you planning something else that you haven't listed yet?

Also, is there any way to add "previous" and "next" page views? That would make navigation a bit easier.

Good call on the "previous" and "next". I'll look into that.

You know, I think you might be right about the switch. I'm not 100% sure but I think I can do the splitting of all three pickups on the same quadrant. At positions 2 and 4, all three pickups would be split, but not necessarily active.

Ah. No, I do need it. The splitting wires for the three pickups would all be connected to each other all the time. That would be bad, right?

I think maybe you missed that I'm not just splitting the HB, I'm splitting all three pickups at various times (neck at 2, mid at 2 and 4, and bridge at 4).

Nice blog! I enjoyed reading it, loved the 510k resistor part!
Super-super switches rule IMO. If you have the space for the controls use em!

I chewed on it for quite a long time, basically because I didn't think switches with that many contacts existed and I was sure it must be possible. I couldn't find any way of doing it though and I thought I was screwed.

Mad Raxz - thanks! I try to get a new post up every day as I'm constantly thinking about it and so far it hasn't quite caught up with my brain, if you get me. You can follow @JumbleGuitar on twitter to get notifications when there's a new post if you want.

Anyway the next post that goes up is going to have an animated gif that it took me AGES to create, to do with the megaswitch. The witring scheme for it is weird so I haven't managed to do a full diagram yet as I needed a way to visualise it. So I really hope I still need it!

I don't how much you like to "tinker", or fabricate, but I did add a micro-switch to a Tele 3-way once because I needed just one 'mo function. You could probably do the same to a superswitch to add that resistor in there.

Just a thought. ;)

Impressive! Bit beyond me at the moment but I intend to keep one build on the go at all times and continually take on new challenges. So who knows!

The new post went up with an animation to show how the poles on the swtich work. That is gonna be weird to wire up.

I wonder what it is about the volume control resistance article everyone likes so much. It gets about twice as many views as all the other posts so far combined!

As for keeping 'em coming, I'm trying to get one out every day, it's a fun way to keep me moving on the project. "Aaargh, if I don't do some small bit of planning, I won't have anything to write!"

Bumping this ancient thread. The blog isn't quite up to date, although there's been a lot of progress. I hit a bit of a milestone today though:
