blend pot + 3 way switch

Hey folks-

I'm looking for a wiring to be able to do the following:

Switch from bridge to neck with a normal 3-way Les Paul type of switch, but in the middle, be able to use a blend (dual gang/center detent) pot to balance the blend of each pickup. Controls are master volume and master tone.

I think I would have to run the blend pot after the 3-way to keep the signals separated, but I don't know to get it to work only in the middle position.

Is this even possible?

I don't think this will achieve my goal of only having it work in the middle position, but it's a lot closer than I was getting by using the first diagram. I saw the third one already, but I must have ignored it because it said "stereo wiring."
