Blend Pot vs 2 Volume Pots

I changed my Strat to 3 way HH w/ Master Volume and Tone. Would adding a second Volume knob (one for each pup) serve the same function as a Blend pot (the single no load pot, not the stacked pot)? So when switched to the middle position (both pups engaged) I can create my own blend.

I had that same setup without a tone. Middle position is full middle but when you're in neck position and roll back the blender it brings in the bridge and vice versa.

When you activate the blender and bring in rhe other pup, is it the same thing as raising the volume when the selector is on neck/bridge?

Yeah I think it's about the same. It's been a while since I had a 2 volume guitar tho.
