Blender pot

Is the Fralin Blender pot any different than a regular 250K pot or is it just the way it is wired? I think the mod would work well in my 62 re-issue......Joe

Re: Blender pot

The only difference is, on the "blender" pot, they cut one end of the carbon trace or put some nail polish over one end, so that the pot is effectively "off" at one end. You don't have to do that, however, if you just want to try it. It just means that the bridge pup would never go completely off. But it would be so close that I doubt you'ld hear the difference.

Re: Blender pot

It's a no load pot so when it's turned up to "10" it removes itself from the circuit.

A regular pot won't work as well.

I amend my statement. If Lew says it'll make a difference, it'll make a difference. ;)

Artie, the diff is that with a stock pot the pickup that is being blended into the other pickup will leak through a little bit and remain slightly "on" all of the time. That's why Lindy uses the no load pot. Lew
