LOL! Yeah, guess with the Hello Kitty, you can sacrific it during the set... I dont think there is an ultimate hm guitar as metal can be played on about any. Visually, I think the BC Rich Warlock is about as metal as you can get.
As far as shred, the Washburn WM526 is a great choice as it was pretty much designed from the clean slate for that purpose

Honestly, if it's not milled from a billet of steel, it's not worth thinking about.

Hmmm. I must have been out of town when that question was asked!

I guess for me, the ultimate heavy metal guitar is the customized Stratocaster. Customized a bit...but not completely overboard like EVH. Particularly the CBS-era ones. Big headstock, rosewood veneer board, and mid-late-'60's-style pickups. Two of what I consider to be the most important proto-metal guitarists used them: Jimi Hendrix and Wayne Kramer. Hendrix used a custom wiring, and Kramer added a humbucker (perhaps the first "Super Strat" ever). Then, of course, there is Blackmore as well, who played a '70's one. Glenn Tipton, who played a modified one. Dave Murray, who played a modified '57. Etc. Basically, my favorite heavy metal guitars are "vintage modified" style, or even stock vintage style.

Not the same as those Squier Hello Kitty guitars. It HAS to be the Squier brand/model, because everything else would be better. The only thing that could be worse are those First Act guitars you see in a Walmart or Target. The secret to the quality (and metal-ness) is the brutality in the child labor forced upon doomed infant souls, forever tormented in what seams like Hell (hot and humid Southeast Asia).
