Blog: Schecter Releases KM-6

Re: Blog: Schecter Releases KM-6

I have the cash saved, once the trans white comes out in lefty it's all mine, really cool that these come with the black winters....

Re: Blog: Schecter Releases KM-6

Not enough strings to bring the brootalz

Number of strings is fine, my problem is that it has one too many pickups and a rosewood fretboard that you can't easily swap for maple. :D

Re: Blog: Schecter Releases KM-6

Someone needs to tell Schecter that Kodak has released color film….

Re: Blog: Schecter Releases KM-6

Would I burst into flames if I tried to play some allman brothers on it?

Well, I have good news for you then... It's Ebony, not rosewood.

I dig that they added unique pickups so it wasn't just a KM-7 with one less string and a shorter scale. Personally, if I was gonna spring for one or the other, I'd go Km-7. I have plenty of 6-strings and only one 7. Plus, I got to play the KM-7 and I thought it was pretty cool. Like Lats, I think that transparent white is just friggin' cool!

Re: Blog: Schecter Releases KM-6

I've heard it spoken that they are Black Winters with hex pieces.

Re: Blog: Schecter Releases KM-6

I'm guessing identical save for the aesthetic differences, like the "signature" Invaders on that Avenged Sevenfold guy's guitars.

As for the KM-6, color me interested as soon as they come out with a Floyd, the white looks amazing!

Those are actually TB-8s rather than SH-8s. More of a functional change than just cosmetic.

Yeah, but don't hex screws tend to brighten & tighten a pickup?

Re: Blog: Schecter Releases KM-6

Except the double screws (vs one series of screws and one of pole pieces) tend to get the tone warmer and less tight so it's kinda one or the other.
Plus you could always swap allen screws for normal ones thus being able to tweak even further.

Not saying it's bad or a gimmick or whatever, just that the effect should probably be minimal and (mostly) reversible.
TBH, based on the descriptions I am somewhat more interested in the Nazgul/Sentinel combo, unfortunately though, I haven't had personal experience with either set to know for sure.

At least they're not Alex Winters with hex pieces.

Ok, thanks for the clarification.
