Blonde Blues Jr has landed!!!

First off, i'd like to thank TheJangus for dealing with me and packing it like a champ!!! seriously cool to deal with!!!

now...the amp!?

IT'S D-E-A-D MINT in condition...looks better than new and it's gorgeous...Blondes are HOT and this one is Marilyn Monroe hot! (in fact i think i'll call her Marilyn...yeah, i know, i'm nuts...i even name my amps!:laugh2: )

Next...it sounds great! so clean and yet it retains the layers you'd expect in a really nice amp...so i played around with it just seeing how clean and crisp i could get her and then i plugged in the Tech 21 TRI-OD (thanks CaptainCrunch)...WOW...it really made this amp "special"...the tri-od has a tweed, calif, & british setting, each with it's own volume and drive controls and then the pedal itself has a volume, bass & treble. After a few tweaks with the amp and the pedal i was getting a FULL, rich deep clean sound with just the right amount of verb via the "tweed" setting (reminded me of a bassman)...nice for intros, picking and light strumming and bluesy stuff...then i had the "calif" setting dialed in for major crunch and munch and at a higher volume for switchin from the tweed channel to do some serious riffing and lead work...it makes this little amp chug and plug beyond my wildest expectations...and then the "british" setting has plenty of dynamics and cutting ability for any lead or harmonics licks...my only complaint is that the amp itself doesnt' have a pedal that i can turn the "verb" on and off when i want...that would be PERFECT! i can only imagine how great it would sound with a speaker uprgrade...say one of those Eminence Wizards that Lew was raving about...that would probably set this amp over the top!!!!

needless to say...i'm happy as a mole in soft dirt right now...!!!

well...gotta go...more playing to do!

Again...thanks to TheJangus and CaptainCrunch...i went from no amp for about a year now to NEW STUFF ROCKIN!!!

later,
mike

p.s. yes, i already know this thread is useless without pics...i'll get some up this weekend!!!

Re: Blonde Blues Jr has landed!!!

i almost forgot to mention how freaking sweet that my Schecter sounds and plays...i mean i've only got to plink around with it unplugged for the past few months and i only played it at the store through an amp for 10 minutes tops and that was at a very low volume..."Petey" ROCKS!!! i'm really liking it alot...even the stock pups are sounding great...nothing like i remember in the store!!! anyways...it plays so easy and feels so good...I'M TOTALLY LOVING IT!

Re: Blonde Blues Jr has landed!!!

Sounds sweet Mike. Haven't you been GAS'ing for this for awhile? :)

Re: Blonde Blues Jr has landed!!!

Is there any difference between the black and the blonde Blues Jr's besides the coverings? Did the Hot Rod series come out after these or is it a Hot Rod?

Re: Blonde Blues Jr has landed!!!

it is a hot rod series amp...the best in the line in my opinion. There is no difference between a black one and a blonde one...the blonde ones are a musician's friend exclusive...the only place you can get one (other than second hand) is through musician's friend

i've been G.a.s.sing for AN amp ever since i had to sell my Tech 21 120...that was about a year ago?!:) :) :)

Re: Blonde Blues Jr has landed!!!

Great to see new fans of the Blues Jr.! I've had my Laquered Tweed Blues Jr. for a couple years now and couldn't be happier with it. It has such a cool '50s vibe to it with the laquered tweed covering. The Jensen speaker they put in at the factory is pretty sweet too! This thing makes my Strats sound SWEET and very smooth and glassy! It takes to my few effects pedals very nicely also!

Check mine out at the Photobucket.com link in my signature!

Have fun with that Blues Jr., you'll be really happy with it!!

Awesome, I am getting jelous, I am waitin for uncle sam to give me my money back, then its gonna be pro junior for me.

Re: Blonde Blues Jr has landed!!!

the blues Jr. is an awesome amp. My best friend owns one and that amp plus his strat is tone heaven, just crank the gain to 12 and then put the master as loud as your location allows and then just controll the overdrive level with the guitar volume. It sounds great with my Schecter too (Schecters rule, good choice).
