Tried something a little different this time around. Drilled out the bridge posts slightly so I could sit the bridge flat on the body, worked out pretty well, with a lot less work beforehand. (Still have to chisel the neck pocket down to remove material to lower the neck angle, but that only takes a few minutes.) Opened up the original hole for the jack to fit a Strat style plate. Not perfect, but much better than the original, I can sit down and not kink the cable up now. Tried a set of Dimarzios out of an Ibanez Prestige first, they were a little muddy in this. Went with a set of CALIG Tera humbuckers and swapped out the ceramics for neodymiums. Now they're a little too bright, but much better sounding. Might go back and pull the neos out and put in an A8 in the bridge and A4 in the neck. Tru Oil on the neck and body, about as easy as it gets for a finish.

Its a maximum bind lockingless fr nut.

Standard locking nut. That's how the necks came.

Yup, A8 in the bridge and A3 in the neck tamed the brightness down a bit. Some slight EQ adjustments and we've got plenty of cut without any piercing. I'm liking this one a lot, and these pickups are taking magnet swaps pretty well. Might have to get a few more sets to experiment with.

Pulled the A3 out of the neck and installed a regular thickness ceramic. Kept the A8 in the bridge. That's what I was looking for.

Agreed looks great, as for the wood, it's obvious they covered it 'cause of the many disparate pieces but is it weird that I'm loving how it looks? Seams and all
