Blueridge Acoustics

Anyone had any experience with these? I am looking into buying a new acoustic and these seem to be relatively unknown but the people who do know them seem to love them. Wondering if anyone here has ever owned or played around with one. Specifically i am looking at the BR-183. Solid east indian rosewood back and sides and solid sitka spruce top....only thing that has me worried is that they are made in a factory in china

When looking at foreign made guitars, acoustics especially, remember that where they are made is *probably* more humid than where you live.

This increases the likelihood of fret-hang and other ailments because when the wood is in China or Korea for a year or so, it gets "wet," then you ship it to Arizona or wherever you live and the whole thing shrinks.

Now, this "knowledge" is certainly debatable, but my observations support it so far.

All you need to do is maintain proper humidity. ALL acoustic guitars that are made from solid woods should be maintained at 45% humidity. I do this right in the case with guitar humidifiers, but the other option is to humidify the room where the guitars are stored. A room humidifier can be purchased for under 100$.

As far as Bluridge guitars go they are nice, but they are factory made. What price range are they getting? I own a MArtin D15 which is on the lower end of Martins, but it is a great guitar that is about 400$ used!

The Bluridge that I did play I felt had a weird neck shape and I thought the nut width was to narrow. Large body acoustics typically have a 1 11/16 nut wide. Ideal for strumming, small body guitars usually have a wider nut which makes them better for fingerpicking. The Bluridge that I played had a narrow nut. It felt a little odd, but it played and sounded nice!
