What are these half step slide techniques called and how are they best applied?
In general, I am talking about slide techniques where you quickly slide 2 or 3 strings a half-step (sort of with a quick sweep picking technique), return to the starting position and repeat several times.
Specific examples:
1) Third finger on 15 fret of the G string / second finger on 14th fret of B the string. Slide up 1 fret, repeat
2) First finger on 13 fret of the B string / second finger on 14th fret of the E string. Slide up 1 fret, repeat
3) First finger on 13 fret of the G and B strings / second finger on 14th fret of the E string. Slide up 1 fret, repeat
4) Second finger on 13 fret of the B string / Third finger on 14th fret of the G string / Fourth finger on 14th fret of the e string. Slide up 1 fret, repeat
For each form above, how do you determine what position is in what key?
Are there any other common forms that are similar to the above
Thank you anyone who can shed some light and help me learn how to use these techniques!
