Im replacing the current pickups on my american strat to get more of a texas/chicago style blues tone. h-s-s style. what do yall recomend?

Re: Blues pickups?

You could go with like Quarter pounders in the neck and middle. If you wanted something brighter and smoother go with a seth lover in the bridge or if you wanted something more middy a custom custom. Though lately my some of my favorites have been rio grandes. I get a killer texas blues tone out of their Muy Grandes. :)

pearly gates bridge and classic stacks if you want to keep it a silent strat. someone else is asking the same question somewhere around here

Re: Blues pickups?

I really like the SSL-1's for singles.
I like the SSL-3 in the Bridge.
I also like the DiMarzio HS-3 for Bridge ( Stacked Humbucker ).

Re: Blues pickups?

I really like the SSL-1's too. If it's a Super Strat you want, then I'd suggest the SSL-1's and a 59 Trembucker. If you want something hotter in the bridge a Custom Custom Trembucker and a pair of APS-1's or APS-2's might be cool too. If you go humbucking for the single coils you'll lose the classic bubbly, chimey, Hendrixy, Buddy Guy Strat tone, IMO. I'd keep them vintage style single coils myself. Lew
