Blues Trembucker Alternative

Hey guys,

I have just purchased an Amererican Deluxe HSS strat 3-color sunburst w/ rosewood neck. I love the way it feels and plays but am not sure about the stock humbucker. I do have a Blues Trembucker lying around which I really like but frankly I am not sure about the look(color and pole pieces) and trimming out the pickguard if needed.
Does anyone know if there is a Duncan that might be close to the sound of the Blues (Demon?) that looks more like a standard humbucker? Other brands welcome as well.
I know I should be most concerned with tone and if I am happy with the sound of the Blues I should just stick with it, but I figure if I am shelling out about a grand for the guitar it should look just as I want it too.

Sorry, there's no pickup that sounds quite like that one. I went through the same thing, I really liked that pickup, and I wanted to put it in my Hamer, but it didn't look right and it was trembucker spaced. The Demon sounds nothing like it, it has more treble, less bass, and less midrange. You could send in a standard polepiece pickup to the custom shop and have it rewound to Blues specs for $75. If the look really bothers you, that's what I'd do. I've considered doing the same thing and getting a standard-spaced, standard polepiece version with a nickel cover.

I was kind of anticipating that would be the case. I'm suprised that SD doesn't have more pickups that are like the Blues T. It seems to have an awesome tone but is in the "middle" out put range which seems to be lacking in the SD line.
I originally bought the Blues because of recommendations from this forum and as I write this I might just put it in my new strat as the sound is killer.
Interesting idea to send another pickup to SD to be rewound to Blues specs. I might give that a try as well.
