Blues Trembucker

Is there anyone out there who has tried the Blues Saraceno Trembucker?

According to the product description it is supposed to give a fatter sound in the bridge position on trem guitars which is what I have been trying to find.

I have been getting some advice for the CC . I am just worried about some of the Harm Central reviews saying the pickup might be too mid rangy plus not enough bass.

Thoughts?

I have had a hard on for one of these for almost a month now :smack:
I talked to a tech at duncan and what it is,
is a PAF for ibanez, jackson type guitars.
it is designed to keep a nice full paf tone even with a super thin neck and a locking floydie.
I am geting a PAtb1 original trembucker used this week cause it is the only used one i found and it is supposed to be a hotter blues model

Re: Blues Trembucker

I think the Blues is one of the best sounding bridge pickups I've ever tried. I had it in a Wolfgang with a Floyd, and it sounded amazing, much better than the CC. I would have to agree that the CC has too much midrange and not enough bass. The Blues is EQ'd very evenly. It has the perfect amount of bass, more midrange than the C5 or '59, and enough treble to help it cut through the mix without sounding shrill or too bright. It's a warmer sounding pickup compared to the C5 or '59, but it has a nice crunch, and it works well in brighter sounding guitars, which most tremolo-equipped guitars are. I would consider it to be on the low end of the medium output scale. It has a little more output than the PAF style pickups, but not too much more. I think it's the perfect output level for the bridge spot. In fact, I loved it so much that I've looked into having the Duncan custom shop make me a standard-spaced, nickel-covered, standard adjustable polepiece version of the Blues Trembucker so that I can get that sound in a hardtail guitar. It's a little more expensive than some of the other Duncan humbuckers, but it's well worth it. Unfortunately, they're very difficult to find used. They pop up on Ebay every now and then, but you'll probably have to buy a new one if you want to try it.

Re: Blues Trembucker

I am a bit confused ,
is there 2 different pickups one called the " Blues Saraceno Model trembucker" and the other a " Blues Trembucker"?

Re: Blues Trembucker

No, those are the same pickup. There is a PA-TB1, PA-TB2, and PA-TB3. These are special trembuckers designed specifically for locking tremolo guitars. Most of the trembucker pickups in the Duncan lineup are the same as the standard humbuckers, but with wider string spacing. The parallel axis trembucker pickups were designed specifically for Floyd Rose style guitars, in an attempt to recapture some of the low end and sustain that is sometimes lost with these guitars due to the bridge design. I haven't tried the other two models, but the Blues model is the PA-TB3.

Re: Blues Trembucker

Thanks for clearing that up. They are being sold at Musicians Friend for @ $89. I just might give them a try.

they were a bit chaeper on EBay but I assume they don't carry the Seymour 21 day tryout period.
