From people tha thave played them. I played both and find the Ecstasy very versatile and with a great squishy tone! Clean is fender to loose blusey. Great Led Zep tone. Red channel nice VH squish.

Diezel Einstein chn 2 nice lead channel. Like a Boss in front of my 2203 actually. Clean nice and clean. Not quite same mojo as Bogner. Mode 2 is cool Texas blusey type to ACDC. Mode 3 good gain. Similar to boosted JCM with more lo mids.

Or do I just get Fender Twin and Dual Recto? Kind of want all in one. Got to be one of these.

Re: Bogner Ecstasy or Diezel Einstein

It sounds like you dig the XTC the most from reading your experiences with the two.

Re: Bogner Ecstasy or Diezel Einstein

I'd go with the Diezel but that's because the cleans are the nicest (IMO) of any high gain amp I've played.

Re: Bogner Ecstasy or Diezel Einstein

I really like the Ecstasy myself, its on my list amps to get in the near future...I play every Bogner that I run into.

If you are in that price range, do yourself a favor and go try the Mesa Road King II. If you want a Recto and Fender cleans in one box, that is the amp. I just did a custom order for one after playing one in the store (it won't be showing up for a few months yet). Pretty impressive sounds from that one.

Re: Bogner Ecstasy or Diezel Einstein

I own a Bozel. My dog is Bozel. Wierd.

I hear those bozels sound pretty good, but they put out alot of bark, bite, and snarl that cant be tamed

Re: Bogner Ecstasy or Diezel Einstein

The Einstein is a cool amp too, but I don't think there'll ever be a channel switching EL-34 amp that can outdo the XTC. It's an amp that is capable of shaping the tone any way you want it, to pinpoint accuracy. Trying it in the store is nothing until you get it to a rehearsal space and run it through all it's paces. Even the clean channel can be made firmer and more sparkley like a Twin by adjusting some switches/knobs. I like to assign the second presence knob to the clean channel, just to enhance the highs. Those are things you can't do with a Diezel. The Bogner has full control over the squishiness too, and therefore you can adjust the amount of sag and sustain, or make it harder sounding.

Re: Bogner Ecstasy or Diezel Einstein

Yep, nothing "squishes" like a Bogner either. Too many amps I've owned in the past had that "hard" sound to it. That sag just sounds so right when you play.

Re: Bogner Ecstasy or Diezel Einstein

BOGNER XTC or XTC Classic all the way

OR get the classic and a Twin. Sometimes the Bogner clean isn't enough faux fender for me.

The Diezel doesn't give you that Plexi mode. Combine the Plexi mode with a good OD and you have yet another amazing old rock sound to along wiht the saturation. If you want pure saturation get the Diezel

Re: Bogner Ecstasy or Diezel Einstein

The Bogners and Diezels both have great master volumes, so they still sound good at regular volume, but yeah......both are extremely loud amps. The XTC and Diezel VH4 are probably louder than Marshall Superleads, almost to the level of a Marshall Major!

I even named my 101B Mr. Volume. For most gigs, I just use the head and 2-12, and it's a tidy looking mini stack.

Re: Bogner Ecstasy or Diezel Einstein

neither, crate gfx212.

id go with the bogner, i find it to be a little easier to dial in and also the tones are a little more organic then the deizel. Sorry, ive just always been a bogner fan. I dont hate deizels, i just dont think they live up to the hype and the price.

That's what sold me on my Bogner. My Shiva sounds much better at lower volumes than the 30w I used to own and that thing cranks out 80 watts. It can get deafeningly loud at a gig if I need it, but it sings at lower volumes, so I practice with it in my apartment.

Re: Bogner Ecstasy or Diezel Einstein

Never played either. But a guy at church has been using the XTC for about a month, and it sounds incredible.

Re: Bogner Ecstasy or Diezel Einstein

ive heard clips of both of them and i love the XTC much better than the diezel.

Re: Bogner Ecstasy or Diezel Einstein

:omg:

I played the XTC today (but just for a few minutes). The guy I know wanted to check the tone in the house PA. Soooo, I got to play around with his PRS single-cut through the Bogner.

:wow:

Fat, fat tone. Rich, full, :32: Kinda left me in "ecstasy."

Only minor complaint was the fat neck on the PRS. I've been playing Parkers for several years, and the Fly Deluxe for about 16 months. Quite an adjustment on neck size.

Overall, his rig is KILLER!

Re: Bogner Ecstasy or Diezel Einstein

try the mesa roadster.. it even has a "tweed" channel.. the "Brit" channel sucks on it though.. but the amp is worth it's weight in gold for its clean, fat, tweed, and vintage channels (I don't know what it is but I don't really like the modern channel) and the reverb for each of the four channels
