Again, Im extremely befuddled as to app. I watched the LaGrange vids, and they are all for use with Marshall heads vintage style amps set to clean or clean'ish; I find that with nearly all such Marshall -in-a-box stye boost pedals.
I think being that I already utilize a real Marshall Plexi and also JCM 800 and also Hiwatt, all of which achieve a sans-pedal dynamic OD/distortion at cranked volume , then I would need a different boost..but to be frank, the original TS style circuit just marries so well with these. I also need to look at clean boosts suppose- RC/ Timmy/ etc.

It's a great sounding pedal...super sweet... BUT ....it sounds just like the handmade VISA distortion pedal I bought from Thailand a couple of years ago (with a few more switches/inputs/outputs/bells/whistles) ...& by that I mean pretty much identical tones (allowing for differences in guitars/EQ/miking etc) They were selling like hotcakes on ebay and lots of great players were using them/singing their praises all over the place. Then the guy suddenly stopped making them and disappeared off ebay...

Nah, personal preference. I have played quite a few friedmans, including the Brown Eye, Naked and a few others. I find the Helios does those tones better to me, and a lot of other people. On Bogners amps such as the Shiva, I find the 20th Shiva top of the mountain. Love that amp. Friedmans just don't do it for me. Oh well.
To me there is no way the Friedman can stand up to the Bogner.
Check out the PWE Event Horizon. It is even better.
