Bogner Shiva WITHOUT VERB

How much would you pay for a Shiva without Reverb?

Bogner CANNOT add the reverb on NON-Reverb models, it's too pricey to get it done and too troublesome from what I understand.

so what's it worth?

$1200?

or nothing? just get the Reverb version like it was meant to be!

Re: Bogner Shiva WITHOUT VERB

There's a few Shiva owners who think the tone is a little better on the non reverb models. I've never had the chance to compare them. Most British styled amps don't have reverb, and I think the reason is that the circuit is designed a certain way.....if you add reverb, it siphons current from elsewhere.

I'd probably prefer the reverb model, but if you get a good price on a non reverb, you may as well get it anyway. Afterall, Marshalls don't have it and neither does the Ecstasy. I like a tiny bit of reverb, so I usually use my Holy Grail in the FX loop, mixed in very subtle so it sounds like a Spring reverb on 1 or 2.

Re: Bogner Shiva WITHOUT VERB

Go for the reverb. There's been countless threads on this on TGP. The clean channel just doesn't sound as good without the reverb and a little bit goes a long way with Bogner. I don't ever turn mine off on my EL-34 Shiva. It may be a bit more expensive, but it'll be worth it in the long run (and let's face it, reverb doesn't get any better than an actual spring tank).

OR.....grab a Fender reverb tank. The reissues go for around $300 & you'll have more verb than you'll know what to do with.

I had one, but opted for the H&K Replex....good reverb, good delay in a footpedal type box.
