Try it in the Alchemist's effects loop return, so the Alchemist is used as a power amp for the Uberschall pedal. That should bypass the digital stuff Line 6 put in it, and it'll probably sound GREAT. It should also sound killer in the Peavey's effects loop return (which the XTC pedals should also kick ass and take names at for more old-school sounds). I've even used the Uberschall pedal into a Kustom Quad 200's power section, and it was better than the Kustom's preamp (the Kustom makes a GREAT 200W power amp though). The Bogner pedals really hold their own when used as just preamps rather than pedals. It might even change your mind about selling it.
Also, both Jolly and I really advocate reading the manual LOL. The middle control and bass control are REALLY active on the Uberschall pedal. Especially the mids knob. Moving it 1 mm makes a lot of difference.
Nah, you need to blast it through a really loud cabinet. You'll really appreciate it then.
I'd recommend starting with the eq all at 12 noon, then dial in the mids first to taste. Once you have the mids set, then you start to fiddle with the bass (making sure the amp can handle it), and lastly the treble to add whatever amount of clarity/balance you want. I've even gotten good sounds with all of the EQ on 10. Whatever suits the setup. If only the pedal had a presence control (which is supposed to be really important on the real amp), but that's part of the Uberschall's power section, not the preamp.
Well, it's cool you figured out how to get the sound you like. I love Jerry's tone so it might be a cool thing to pick up unless a good deal on a real Uber pops up.You just talked me out of selling it. Sorry kids. You'll have to wait 'til MF's next SDOTD.
I need an iso-cab.
