Bolt on necks?

Re: Bolt on necks?

Traditionally, POS guitars were bolt-on because they were cheapo and bolting is cheaper than gluing. I think that's the biggest reason why bolt-on guitars are associated with junk ... though the large neck flanges on most bolt-on guitars soured me to the concept for a good long time. That said, there are a lot of good bolt-on guitars out there. I even own a few. :p

comparing bolt on and set neck is like comparing hamburgers and hotdogs.are hotdogs bad? there's always good hotdogs and good burgers.
great analogy

I have a Les Paul (set neck) and my Warmoth guitar which resembles a strat (bolt on). I like both tones a lot but they are distinctly different. I'm sure the different scale length and woods have somethign to do with it too. My Les Paul seems to have a warmer, fuller, and tighter sound to it. Where as my warmoth, has a harsher, chunkier tone. Just what i've observed.
