Bonamassa tone w/Black Country Communion= amazing

I've been listening to their stuff some more lately and I'm loving Bonamassa's tone. Not sure why, but to me it kind of sounds like a more modern take on Jimmy Page's tone. Anybody know what gear he's using with the band? I read on woodytone that he's started using Budda amps.

BTW, from what I've heard so far, "Dust Bowl" is a very solid album. Joe is easily in my top 5 modern guitar players.

Glenn Hughes is one if my favorite singers. Liked his Seventh Star album with Tony Iommi along with the 8th Star and the 1996 DEP Sessions. The Black County Communion is the perfect album to showcase Glenn Hughes style of singing.

Search Youtube for "premier guitar joe bonamassa" (I can't get YT at work).

They have 3 videos where he shows off his amps, guitars, and pedalboards. I'm assuming he is using the same gear, or close to the same gear he uses on his solo tours. I remember he uses a Silver Jubilee, a Carol Ann, and one other amp which I can't remember.

I like his tone too. I'm not sure if it's the best fit, it's a bit too smooth and refined sometimes, I think he could use something a bit more wild.
But yeah, it's amazing nonetheless and I've been mimmicking his tone and playing a bit as of late.

He's the best blues guitarist around these days. No one else has the combination of feel, style, speed, and dexterity. His playing is like a whirlwind and flawless. The guy's in his prime.

not sure about what hes using for bbc but his normal rig is four 100w heads. the silver jubilee stays on the whole time and one of the others is always on as well.

it used to be the marshall, a carol ann or van weelden dumble clone, catagory 5, and two rock

pretty much.

I really like how on his newer albums, you hear more and more non-blues/non-traditional stuff going on as far as moods and feels of songs. his phrasing is perfect.

too bad he can't sing as well as he can play..but still - it's blues - he can get away with it hehe.

Hey, I saw Derek at a blues festival when he was 14, and I love when he plays without a slide, then he's amazing. But slide is so sloppy, it gets tiring for me to listen to.

Bonamassa is the primary reason I'm currently thinking about offering one of my Splawns in trade for a Budda SD-80.

Whaaaaaaaa???? And you call yourself blueman??????

Oh, you guys I think he means blueman group.

Re: Bonamassa tone w/Black Country Communion= amazing

Joe's rig on BCC was a handfull of vintage Marshalls...mostly a Super Lead and a Super Bass run together and he used old Marshall cabs loaded with EV12L's...a handfull of effects (TS-808, Pork Lion, Fuzz Face, etc) and his LP's and MMEB guitars...

If you have the album his gear is listed inside it...

Re: Bonamassa tone w/Black Country Communion= amazing

Its clear in this video he has 2 Marshalls, an Orange & something else which I can't identify. The Marshalls look like his Jubilee & a Plexi.

Re: Bonamassa tone w/Black Country Communion= amazing

I would consider JB a "blues fueled" type of player. IMHO he is more of a rock player then a blues player, but either way he can play his butt off!
