WOW is all I really have to say.
I was at Russo's Music in New Jersey and I was there to buy a low impedance volume pedal to use in the loop. They had a few mesa amps there and the Mark V 35 was the one I tried the Volume pedal out with.
After figuring out what volume pedal I wanted( I got the Ernie Ball VP) I was noticing how sweet the Mark V was sounding. The Vertical cabinet had Vintage 30's in it which typically I shy away from as I don't care for their tone generally but this was not the case today.
I was going through all the different modes on each of it's 2 channels and found heaven on all of them. I was totally loving the tone.
They had 2 Charvels in stock and I used them both. One was a 2015 Hard Tail San Dimas and the other was a 2016 San Dimas Floyd in Tobacco burst( I love that guitar by the way).
The clean channel was clean as it should be. Sweet and very pedal friendly. I was using a Boss Digital Delay in the loop and it sounded fantastic. I had the volume pedal there as well and found it to do exactly what I wanted it to do. The Volume was in front of the Delay so the delay cold ring out when I dropped the volume.
The Crunch tone on the clean channel was very classic rock usually. I could see myself playing "Run to You" by Brian Adams with this tone using slip coil on the Charvel. Very nice tight crunch on the cleans.
The Drive channel well look out, it was mean nasty and also very tight. The low end was awesome with killer palm muting chug. I could just sit and chug all day long and have a ball LOL on that amp and cab setup.
They are getting in the JP2C soon and I can't wait to plug in. Although I'm totally loving the Mark V 35 which with it's 10 watt option and a volume pedal in the loop , I can see this amp being the ultimate home practice amp. With that 2 x 12 Vertical cab as well. What a setup.
