I use one of these coppersound pedals strategy v2 for volume boost. It can add 30db of clean boost or colored boost depending on mode, both modes have a wide ranging tone control that boosts highs on one end and boosts lows on the other end, a pretty nice HP/LP network not your average tone control. It gives me just the right amount of boost I need and can be used as an overdrive too with the internal gain control all the way up. Kinda pricey but definitely worth checking out.
