Re: Boosting for Solos on a tube amp
:cool2: My $.02 -- Try a treble booster in front of an overdrive pedal. I set my amp for clean and use a Spina-modded TS-9 to boost and fatten the sound. Then I stick a treble boost in front of the TS-9. When you hit the overdrive with the treble boost for leads, good things happen to the tone and the volume. I use a Keeley Java Boost or a BYOC rangemaster clone -- both are great. This way you've got a choice of clean, slight overdrive, or really fat overdrive. Works for me.
