Hey,

Just picked one of these up off ebay. Been looking for a decent Flanger for a while. The reviews I''ve seen on this baby have been favorable. Comments O'knowledgeable tone bro's. Thanks.

Peace,

Re: Boss BF-3 Flanger

I tried it for a little while the Gate mode is awesome. I prefer the bf-2 for more normal flanger and chrousy/flange sounds but I didn't spend alot of time with the bf-3 maybe with a little more dailing in I could have got the sound I was after.

I'm not knowledgeable, but I picked one up off ebay. It's pretty nice. AFAIK, not true-bypass, but it swirls out there. For a few seconds, I didn't think it was working, because I had it in momentary mode.

I'm not sure how useful the tap will be, because you have to hold down the normal pedal for 3 seconds. I'd prefer a second button, but hey, what other flanger at that price has tap tempo?

On the downside, my girlfriend kept commenting about how purple it was, but I think that says more about my girlfriend than it does the pedal.

Re: Boss BF-3 Flanger

I'm not sure if it is the same with the BF-3 but the PH-3 also a digital pedal with tap tempo obviously a phaser, seems to suck tone when on you lose alot of low mids hard to notice at first but with lots of a/b checks with analog phasers and bypass then you can notice it. I never noticed with my short play on the BF-3 however.

Re: Boss BF-3 Flanger

I have a BF-3 that I used quite a lot with my Tool tribute band. Great pedal that absolutely nails that sound. (If you're a Tool fan, you know just what I'm talking about.) Some people prefer the BF-2. I have no experience with that one, just the BF-3. Very happy with it.

I agree...I prefer my NF-2 to the BF-3.

Re: Boss BF-3 Flanger

Yeah yeah, where in the chain do you have it by the way??
If that was directed at me. Well I've tried it first after a TB tuner and after other boss buffered pedals. While off (buffered signal) it sounds fine like any other BOSS buffer its just the effect changes the core tone of the guitar.

Re: Boss BF-3 Flanger

The flanger made it's way into my waiting hands today. I'm very impressed, a plethera of tasteful tones and head spinning swirls are easily accessible. I'm really digging this pedal and the wife (Peg) sat down and enjoyed the vibe too. Can't wait to explore some more this weekend. So far so good. :arms:
