Boss Ce-3 vs Ce-2?

The local store had a CE-2 not along ago and they sold it direct, now they have a CE-3, haven't tried but it looked liked it was made for stereo rigs? What's the difference between these pedals?

See my post in theis thread: https://forum.seymourduncan.com/showthread.php?t=45813

I'm pretty sure that the CE-3 in mono mode is the same thing as a CE-2. I recently bought a CE-3 on eBAy for $35 (half of what the CE-2's are going for) and it sounds great; just like I remember my CE-2's sounding like back in the eighties. Grab yourself a -3 before everybody else figures out they're the same, and vintage-itis strikes them, too.

(December 2018 update: I recently went searching for threads on the subject of CE-2 vs. CE-3. There aren't many. It turns out I wrote several of the contributions, but I was wrong. I just bought an MIJ CE-3 and A/Bed it against my CE-2. They don't sound the same. The CE-2 has a "push" in the mids that adds to the jangle, but the CE-3 doesn't. It's a thinner sounding chorus. The CE-3 can be used as a vibrato, though, with its switch in Mode II. It's a cool sound on its own, but not the same as a CE-2.)
