Boss CS-3 Mods?!

anybody modded a Boss CS-3 before...like the Monte Allums opto or opto plus kit?!

i just traded my Ibanez DE-7 for 1 and i'd like to crack it open and try one of these kits out?!

any advice or experience would be greatly appreciated!

never did the CS-3 mod but in general, ive found montes mods to be pretty good.

DE-7 was a fine pedal...almost kept it!

If i hadn't had scored a CM Red Repeat for super cheap because of finish flaws...i'd still have it!

I did the Monte Allums mod on a CS-3 back in college, and it was very straightforward --- so easy a college I6 could do it!

It was a good mod too --- really tight sound, no awkward volume bumps afterwareds, and just a real tight warm sound.

We messed up one of the LEDs while testing and Monte sent me another few LEDs in an envelope --- nice guy!

I did the opto + mod...really made the CS3 usable. Certainly do it- it is really cheap and easy to do. I went on to build a few BYOC kits after.

hahah! i've had all the stuff to do it with for awhile now...just haven't pulled the trigger on a kit yet!

i think that a mod kit will definitely give me the kick in the pants i need to do a full build!?!

just desoldering the 9v jack last night got me itching to do it! lol!

haha...i may also look into putting it into a different enclosure as well?!!!

Doh...mine is modded...for more fat tones, plus removed much of the pops it has at higher sustain settings....removed some noise as well...
I kinda love it now
See if I can get a list of the changes dones later on
