boss dc-3 digital dimension vs maxon cs-9 chorus

looking for a chorus pedal without too much of a swooshing going on.

something subtle enough without sounding too processed to add space and thicken things up for clean and dirty is good to go.

that said, how does the cs-9 and dc-3 compare and which is more suitable for my needs?

btw, the cs-9 is the vintage 2 knob version.

thanks as always!

I haven't heard the Maxon, but I have a DC-3. The DC-3 does an awesome job of adding a chorus sound without the swooshing. Even when cranking up the rate and depth, it avoids that weird vibrato effect. It's a really unique chorus effect.

is your dc-3 connected in mono or stereo? i've read that it is most effective in stereo. it sounds pretty much bleh when connected in mono. any truth to that?

I never liked the Digital Dimension I had. It was brighter than a CE-2 (which is what I thought I wanted) but its chorusing was too subtle. On the other hand it added wierd, buzzy artifacts that I found very annoying.

I now use a CE-3, which reminds me a lot of the CE-2's I had in 80's.
