Boss DD-3 vs DD-6

Re: Boss DD-3 vs DD-6

I know the DD6 has a longer 'longest' Delay setting than the DD3 does. The DD6 also has a built in tap-tempo function.

Apart from that, I'm not sure.

Re: Boss DD-3 vs DD-6

The DD-6 has more options but the DD-3 sounds better to me. I've used both and if set to the same setting the DD-3 sounds "bigger", if that makes any sense.

Re: Boss DD-3 vs DD-6

also in the DD6 they "fixed" the problem where if you play with the delay time knob while you're playing or have a note ringing, you get really weird ring modulation sounds. the DD3 will still make the noises. I kinda like having the noises as that gives me something more to mess with :)

Re: Boss DD-3 vs DD-6

You can also do that with a DD-2 and a PS-2 in case you're checking out used pedals . . .

Re: Boss DD-3 vs DD-6

i'm kinda in the market for both.. puting my gear up for sale on every local page i know of, to scrape the money together for a couple of pedals and a 2nd mic

Re: Boss DD-3 vs DD-6

I have the DD-20. You can do that weird effect with that, and also with the DigiTech DigiDelay. I htink most delays allow you to do that. The DD-20 is only slightly more expensive that the DD-6, and the DigiDelay costs a little less than the DD-3.

Re: Boss DD-3 vs DD-6

i realy dont want to buy a digitech and i certainly dont want a floorboard, even though it's only delays.
pedal only and it looks like i'll get the DD3.

Re: Boss DD-3 vs DD-6

I have a DD-2. Same circuit as the DD-3. It's beat to hell and looks horrible but it still works like a charm. I'd pick the DD-3 as a replacement every time.

I guess I'm on board also. I needs me a new (used) pedal, too!
