Hi,
I've been trying loads of different volume controllers over time for my master volume live. I put the pedal in the loop and use it to tweak my volume in the mix. I got the Visual Volume 10 pedal which is great with the LEDs....but even adjusting internally, the friction on the pedal isn't enough and it's just a bit too jittery for fine control with my size 12s. It's also a big pedal.
I use an EV-5 as an expression pedal, and I prefer the movement of that pedal so decided to get an FV50. I ended up with a second hand FV50H. Now the issue with it is, in the loop or in front of the amp, and wherever the minimum volume is set, the majority of the increase in volume seems to only happen in the last inch of movement.
Firstly, I'm pretty sure that's just the characteristic of the pedal, I don't imagine it's faulty, right?
So, I'm considering whether I could use some resistor and/or capacitor mod in order to change the sweep. I don't have a lot of experience so I don't want to be experimenting blind.
From youtube I got this schematic. Inside the actual pedal I can see that the minimum volume pot is 500k so I assume the pot on the pedal is 250k (I can't quite see).

Any ideas what I would need to do to make the volume change more progressive across the entire sweep of the pot?
Thanks,
Andy
