i saw a product demo of it at my local store today... the guy playing thru it was an ace of course... besides it being set with too loud of a delay repeat for me the over all tone was just so nice

i own and use the gt-8 this is probably the best fx's unit ive ever seen so the 10 has to be good. only thing i think i liked better was back in the 90's the digitech rp-12

i love my GT-6. i almost sold it just to buy a GT-8, and now here comes big brother GT-10.
I'm broke hehe and dont wan't to spend again. I'm satisfied with my GT-6. Good for earphones jamming or direct recording.
Just by the looks of it, as well the from the demos, those GT-10's are sure fun to play with . I think they are more user friendly than the GT-3,6,8 ones. With the older GT models, man you have to dig in and tweak it like hell to find a sweet organic sound. But if you want over the tops sounds, no problem!
I love the lay-out of the new GT-10, but i've never got the chance to try them yet.

ya i'm broke these days too... $550 for a modeler is a bit much for me to be spending for a while... i'm almost there getting debt free again... once i do i plan to buy some new toys... this is on my shopping list... except this time i'll pay cash instead of using credit

yup... this will be my first time out of debt in 8 years or more... i'm sure all the toys and stuff i bought on credit i've paid for over and over again...

Does this thing sound good through the PA?? I always hear about playing these through amps. My opinion is that if I'm going to bring my amp, I"ll play through my amp! I just want to bring a pedal and my axe and plug into the PA for easy set up.
And good on you for getting out of debt. It is a tough road.

I believe the Gt models sound best with a PA, or at least thru an active monitor with EQ's almost flat.
IMO, playing it with an amp colors the modeling amp section.
So yeah, thay sound really good with a PA.

Cool guys, thanks for the replies. May have to try one out. I've had the Digitech and the Vox and wasn't too impressed with either. No dynamics at all.

My new boss the gear-ho has a problem. He wants to switch channels on his non-channel-switching Matchless (we should all have such problems), controlled by the GT-10. In the past, he has used an A/B/Y footswitch for switching channels, but no he wants to automate it based on the GT-10 patch.
It's not hard to do what he requested - a relay-based A/B/Y box connected to the "Amp Control" output on the GT-10. But it seems kind of kludgey to me - surely the GT-10 has a better way? So, I looked at Boss' website. The manual's not available for download, just the quick start guide. So, I looked at the pictures; stereo outs, but not A/B, so that's probably not going to do it.
But it has an effects loop - hmm. Is it possible to arrange the effects order so the external effects loop come LAST? If so, we might be able to run the loop output to the clean channel (with no return), and the main board output to the dirty channel. That might provide A/B switching, but not A/B/Y. Assuming of course that he doesn't use the loop for something else.
Can somebody with a GT-10 confirm that this will work?
If not, I may have to simply build him the box he asked for, which is getting more complex every time I talk to him...
