Boss Mega Distortion Mods

Re: Boss Mega Distortion Mods

No. But how is that pedal? I passed on one a couple weeks ago. I love the sound of my Line 6 UberMetal. Just always open for different sounds.

Re: Boss Mega Distortion Mods

i think it sounds great. some people say that it adds too much bottom end or something but that's what it's supposed to do. it's advertised that way. there are eq controls, so i really don't see why that would be a problem. compared to my ds-1 which i personally think takes away some bottom end, this pedal puts it where it needs to go.

it's not as smooth as the ds-1 or modded ds-1. it's a bit more modern sounding than the ds-1, and a bit more aggressive. i love the sound of this pedal and it has worked well for me on amps that range from fender hotrod deluxe to a mesa boogie

Re: Boss Mega Distortion Mods

The MD-2 is WAY better than the DS-1, at least stock. I've never used a modded DS-1 but you can pick up a used MD-2 for 40-50 bucks so whatever.

/me is selling one, lol

the output is hot as HELL, it's at least twice as high as the output on the DS-1, it reaaaaly works well as a boost for tube amps, totally crushes through my ashdown's clean.

Re: Boss Mega Distortion Mods

I don't know of any mods, but I'm sure they can be done. To me, the MD-2 sounds a lot smoother than the DS-1, but it has more gain. The DS-1 tends to thin out the sound at certain settings, but the MD-2 gives 2 EQ knobs to tweak in addition to the 2 distortion knobs which can be blended and mixed.
