holy sh*t!! ok ok i know there are a couple of threads on websites talking about this, read a couple of them, and i decided to make my own. ok Marshall 8100 settings? od-2, gain at 18 (yea i said 18! the gain knob on these babies go to 20.. so f*ck 11.. lol!), bass at 6, mids at 7 1/2, treble at 7 1/2, contour at max, Metal Zone settings? are in the pic, also using a Jackson dxmg, alder body version, rosewood fretboard, maple neck, with a DiMarzio P.A.F. on the bridge (not a DiMarzio P.A.F. PRO), and all going into a Celestion Vintage 30 and HOOLY sh*t!! if this ((((almost EXACT settings)))) with ((((almost EXACT Equipment)))) dont give you brutal ass, INSTANT melt-ur-face, thrash-death sounds, then this thread aint for you and you should stay home and find something that will, IF UR INTO BRUTAL METAL if not then u might wanna not comment and close this thread right now. yea i expect a couple of non-brutal metalheads to disagree and say something that would not give me this brutal METAL tone or maybe you will but people are here on THIS thread FOR METAL ZONES, so remember that when your changing the subject! now.. if you had or have any GOOD experiences with a Metal Zone as a boost for brutal metal sounds, let the world know here. give non-modded metal zone users some hope, and that is what im here for. Thanks! Img_130126051223.jpeg

With the dist knob up that high its acting as a distortion not a boost not even close. If im running into a dirty amp I put it on 0 but even on 0 its still chunky.

Re: Boss Metal Zone As A Boost??

chunky is good man, but you must have almost the same equipment to know what im talking about, sounds really good, people are missing out on what i heard last night, if i were to record it i dont think i will sound good cuz i dont have a interface to plug straight in, not only that but it sounded soooo good that i played for like 3 hours until the strings popped! lol

Re: Boss Metal Zone As A Boost??

You're certainly writing for a tightly focused audience.

Re: Boss Metal Zone As A Boost??

Bravo

Haters gonna hate. I say there is a time and a place for every dirt box. Looks like you found a time and place for this one. I don't know I think it's boosting really, per se, but if it sounds good, it is good! :headbang:

Re: Boss Metal Zone As A Boost??

dudes... it.. sounds.. ultra brutal!! like i said will make your face melt instantly and doesnt sound all staticy

Re: Boss Metal Zone As A Boost??

Well, if it works for you, it works.

Still, I'd like to hear it. I seldom know what people are talking about… when they're talking about how something sounds.

Re: Boss Metal Zone As A Boost??

I reckon that the guy to ask about all this is I Invented The Wheel. Has he logged in recently?

Re: Boss Metal Zone As A Boost??

I like that pedal quite a bit given the correct guitar and amp. Not currently using it, but I'm glad you like it!

Re: Boss Metal Zone As A Boost??

I would like to listen "The INSTANT melt-ur-face, thrash-death sounds" you're referring. Words mean nothing without demos.

Re: Boss Metal Zone As A Boost??

i need an interface, otherwise its gonna sounds stupid and a lot of you know that or should. plus my strings popped from playing hours and hours that night so i need new strings. now has anyone ever used a bbe sonic maximizer in front of a amp instead of the effects loop whether its after the metal zone or before?

Isn't that just a file on your computer.....I think you'll need to upload to the net somehow for us to listen to it.
