Re: Boss Metal Zone As A Boost??

At least it didn't sound like this.

Re: Boss Metal Zone As A Boost??

well i havent gotten recording stuff, but all i know is if your a metal zone user and your looking at this thread becuz you have hope in your metal zone, im here to tell you just keep mixing with different amps, speakers, guitars or even just a guitar pickup, have fun with it, it worked for me and it can work for you.

Re: Boss Metal Zone As A Boost??

lol sh*t is gross, if anything it made me wanna post up and make an example of what not to sound like lol. and thats a funny ass face lol

Re: Boss Metal Zone As A Boost??

Crap pedal. Sorry.

it's definitley the most hated popular dirt box. completely unusable tone for any genre IMO. just out of sheer determination one day, i took my friend's metal zone and tweaked it for 2 hours in 3 different amps with no success.
i LOVE thrash metal, but i don't equate maximum distortion to good tone. any time i hear a metal band with this overly distorted, fuzzy, gritty, nasty scooped guitar sound, it distracts me too much to enjoy the rest of it. having "brutal metal tone" doesn't mean using the most distortion possible.

BUT.... out of sheer curiosity and open-mindedness, i kinda wanna hear a better recording. other than the recording quality, it didnt sound bad.

here are some examples of metal tone with just enough(and the right kind of) distortion while maintaining definition and clarity.

and pretty much everything ola englund plays. lol

+1 on what you said and on the bands =).

Re: Boss Metal Zone As A Boost??

As a former metal zone owner I'd be curious to hear a nice clip. I modded mine which greatly improved the sound but I sold it after I got a Damage Control Solid Metal pedal. Anyway, the MZ is much maligned but the guy from Disturbed uses two of them in his rig as EQ pedals and I like his tone.
