Boss ML-2 Metalcore

Has anyone tried the new Boss ML-2 Metal Core pedal? Even though I'm skeptical, it received good reviews on musiciansfriend and harmony-central. Some reviewers said it sounds like an improved Metal Zone.

Just wondering if anyone has tried it or has any opinions? I noticed there's no mid control.

I tried it. It's VERY VERY VERY gainy. Absolutely insane. And I actually didn't mind it. It's certainly not brittle and overly bright like the MT2. Total opposite.
