boss os-2 overdrive/distortion. your experience?

anyone tried boss os-2 overdrive/distortion before? how is it? i find the concept of combining OD and distortion interesting.

I had one a long time ago. It was cool, because it could produce a lot of different tones. I usually set it to 2/3 of the way towards overdrive for a nice fat high-gain sound.

I eventually replaced it with a Blues Driver when I decided I didn't really need that much gain.

I did some mods on one for a guy in California, and personally I really liked it. The setting I preferred was the distortion/drive control at about 2 oclock. This provided a really nice blend for leads, and rythm work.

It is an interesting idea. But out of the box it needs mods. I like John's DS-1 and probably his SD-1 better though than an os-2.

Yeah. There are better mods availiable for it. Talk to John about it, I hear his mods for it are killer.
