BOSS pedals made in Japan

I know it`s said the the old Boss OD/Distortion pedals that were made in Japan usually have a nicer tone than the newer versions made in Taiwan pedal. Does the same apply to Boss Chorus,Flangers,Delay ect....that were made in Japan , were the made in Japan pedals all around better?

Some of the MIJ pedals sound better and the DS1 comes to mind. I think it's pure coincidence though and it's due to Boss using different components...Alot of the differences we hear are due to either the running out of a certain chip or earlier used components and in an effort to make a pedal quieter and more reliable..

The RI TS9 has a changed chip(The TA57778 Toshiba)simply because it's a better performance spec'd chip and more reliable.Does this chip sound as good to me as the JRC4558D they used in the originals though? I don't think so..
