Bought some basslines off amazon. Did I get duped?

Hey guys, first time poster here...

I bought two SD basslines pickups (one neck, one bridge) off of amazon recently and had a bit of a concern. The photo for the products online showed that the pickup cover is branded with the "basslines" logo, however upon arrival I thought it odd the logo was on neither pickup cover, they're both solid black. The cases were branded with SD logos and what you'd expect on a pickup package, and the model stickers were intact on the under side of the pups and seemed to have not been tampered with. Both were purchased on amazon from reputable sellers. Are there any telltale signs that serve as identifiers in determining whether a pickup is legit or not? I can work on pics if needed. Thanks!

If the pickups were vintage, e.g., SJB-1 or SPB-1, there would be no logos on the covers. It sounds like they're SDs since they have the model stickers on the underside. A photo would help.

This is correct. They were indeed the vintage line. A google image search for the SJB-1s shows that the covers aren't branded. Amazon must've used a generic photo for the product and me being relatively unfamiliar with these types is what led to my concern.

Thanks for the quick and helpful response!

Glad to help. I hope you stick around the SDUGF and tell us how the pickups work out for you.

This is understandable.

The SD/Basslines Vintage and Hot replacement pickups for bass guitar appear outwardly similar. Generating an original product image takes time and effort (read money). Using somebody else's image requires permission and, very likely, a licensing fee (read money). Amazon and similar outfits are going to go with the least costly option.

So far, I enjoy them very much so. I find them to be very responsive and powerful. Being new to modding my own gear, I still have a bit to learn about what else is out there, I have to admit that after installing these it is clear to me that some decent pickup upgrades are without question a worth while upgrade. Being my first self performed pickup install (funny story behind that if anyone's interested) I'm just glad I didn't start a any fires or solder an eye out (.... Came close!) Haha

Makes sense. At the end of the day I'm just glad I got the right product, yanno? I'm indifferent about the branding.
