Brad's selling a lot of stuff on eBay at the moment. Lots of stuff that's been sitting that he doesn't use anymore from the early 90s, Get A Grip, SNL, and Woodstock '94 stuff.

It must be the current economy because the BIN is a little on the high side but realy not out of line. The min bid of $1000 is well bellow what an early normal example of a Prosonic head brings. If I had the liquid cash right now this one would be GONE!!
I paid right at $700 for my head and $650 for my Prosonic combo. Both of mine however are later ones and both are in Black + I looked for a deal for quite some time before I bought these. Prices of late are going up on these really quickly and most are the 2/10 combos. These Prosonic heads are quite rear and will bring more than the combos will. The early pre production true Custom Shop versions will normally sell much higher that the later "production" amps (the PC boards on ALL Prosonics say Fender Custom Shop so ??) . This is the ONLY Prosonic head I have ever seen that was built with reverb so it should go HIGH!!
These amps will flat rip your face OFF.

87.5% positive feedback is not a very good Ebay rating.

By the way, Ebay has a new feedback system that does not not allow sellers to leave negative feedback or even neutral feedback for bad buyers. But bad buyers can leave negative feedback for good sellers if they are the least bit unsatisfied with the transaction or if they just feel like being mean.

For example, if the shipment is a little slow or gets delayed in the mail or if a buyer outside of the USA doesn't like having to pay his own country's customs duty charges! The buyer can now trash the seller for things outside of the seller's control. It's very unfair.

Anyways, the seller now has 12.5% negative feedback and that's probably a turn off for interested buyers for this item.

Ebay's new feedback policy is absolute BS and grossly unfair to sellers.

Lewguitar... that is really unfair, it sucks really. It'll mess up the standard thing that you judge people by on eBay. Can't trust anyone anymore I guess ;)

EDIT: btw. Lew, now I finally found the address to your shop. So now you're featured in the Recommended shops on GuitarLounge. I asked earlier here in the Off Topic section what you're site address was as I couldn't find it anywhere, but no one wanted to reply to my question ;) But now you're in there with the other shops!

how do the prosonics compare to the Supersonics?? The only Fender amp Ive ever played that I like.

What about the Tone master?? Ive heard these are amazing

Its simple they DON'T!! In every way IMO a Prosonic will absolutely pound a SuperSonic in the GROUND!! So much so that I sold my SuperSonic head last month :flush: and bought another Prosonic head. I also have sold off my Marshall and my Carvins and my Boogies and use nothing but a pair of Prosonics now! I would rather play live through a Prosonic than a SLO Soldano (And yep I HAVE used both live!!)!!
I have yet to get a crack at the "other" Bruce Zinky Fender the Tone Master --but wana play one!

WOW! Big statement considering Ive always heard Soldano SLOs are awesome.
Are they high gain are marshall ish? Ive been looking for a diff high gain amp.
I always thought I wanted a JCM800 but I played one and was very disappointed in the low level of gain it had. ( I cant play em wide open)

A buddy of mine who's a pro player and has played almost everything made, (lives in LA) says the Tone Master is the cats meow.. Now I heard clips on youtube and thought it didnt sound that great.. But, I have to take those clips with a grain of salt..

I have NO clue what to get. Wish I could try one of these. They are no longer made right? What do they normally go for on ebay?

They went out in 2002. The high price and retro cosmetics did them in. These amps have there own unique voice and have gain out the wazoo!! They also have GREAT cleans + are extremely expressive and touch synsitive.
A nice Prosonic in Black will normaly bring $650-900 with heads being on the higher end. The custom colors run $800-2000 depending on color and condition with the very first 800 true custom shop amps in the Red and Green Lizard grain vinyl ( 300 in Red 500 in Green ) being on the higher end. New list was $1999 for the combo and $1899 on the heads.
While both the Tone Master and the Prosonic are Zinky designs they are much different amps.
According to Bruce the Tonemaster was lower in gain and designed to be run hard and produce the best tones at high volumes at about 20 feet out from the cab. The Prosonic was more versatile, higher gain and was more geared towards real world gigging volumes.
I talked to Bruce today as I BOUGHT that red Prosonic that Whitford had for sale last night. It turns out this one was a one off custom Bruce did for Brad. Bruce remembers this amp quite well as it was his baby and is a true artist custom + is the ONLY 100 watt Prosonic that was ever built.
It should be an absolute BEAST!!!

I called Zinky electronics and Bruce just happened to answer the phone. When I asked him if he built a 100 watt Prosonic he paused and said yep but that there was only ONE!! I asked who it was for then he said BRAD Whitford and Aerosmith and I almost freaked!!
What impressed me was the way Bruce remembered all the little details on this project. What was done to the amp why it was done I mean all the little stuff. Bruce spoke about this one like he was talking about a child! What an incredable guy as here I am a nobody calling cold about a one off amp he did in 96 and he spends about 20 minuits or so with me on the phone now how COOL is that!!

The normal Prosonics are triple recs with AB SS rec at 60 watts, AB Tube Rec at 45 watts and TRUE Class A tube rec at 30 watts.
This one is SS rec only and a full on 100 watts.
With the standard Prosonic head I have in SS AB mode these are LOUD when cranked . I hope I can actually PLAY this beast out somewhere. Right now I keep flashing back to the opening scene of Back To The Future as with a full on 100 watts this thing should flat knock down the WALLS:saeek::saeek:!!!

As for the amp, the reverb tank mounted to the back like that looks completely.....crappy, for lack of a better word. I'd expect something a little more professionally done from the likes of a custom job & ESPECIALLY a Bruce Zinky Custom.

That aside, I'm a little jealous. I'm a little bit of an Aerosmith fan :rolleyes: & would love to have it.

Now, if it had been JOE'S................ :wink:

if you want a full reverb tank on a head in that amp there aint no other place to put it. i agree it looks a little like a cobjob but hey, if it works...

Wonder why Brad is cleaning house?? Id love to have a wearhouse of gear like these guys do.. getting rid of 30 guitars and 50 amps.. Prob leave him with just a couple of hundred..

The normal 60 watters are LOUD to say the least when cranked but also will get some killer low volume tones!! That is something I talked about with Zinky in particular. He designed the Prosonic to be a versatile rig for the normal gigging player where there had to be real control and usable tones at different volumes. The Tone Master on the other hand was designed for the big stage and was to be CRANKED and heard from 20 feet out or so to sound right.
